Let us read from John 12:45, 46 “He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.” He who sees Jesus sees the real God. One who sees the Lord can see light and will not desire to be in the darkness. If we see and experience this God daily in our lives, the dark areas in our lives will be revealed to us and we can get victory. This is the reason why Jesus came – to explain God to us. (John 1:18) We all receive a lot of information from the news and from social media. When we believe all these things and put our trust in these things, we move away from the light into the darkness. But when we believe and seek God, the darkness in our lives will be removed. We see in the lives of men like Isaiah, Job and others that when they say God, they were immediately convicted of the darkness in their lives. When we see God our sins will be exposed.
In John 17:3 we read the real meaning of eternal life – This is Eternal Life that they may know You the only true God and Jesus Christ who You have sent. To know God and His Son Jesus Christ. John 17:6 “I have manifested your name to the one men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to ME and they kept your word.” In this verse Jesus says that He has manifested God’s name to the disciples. When we see and fellowship with God, His love is poured through his spirit and we are able to love our brothers. We are all basically selfish people, but when we see God, this darkness in our lives will be removed and we can be one with our brothers. (John 17:23) God loves us as he loved Jesus so he will do for us as He did for Jesus when we eagerly seek to be in the light.
In Isaiah 6 we see how Isaiah sees how much of a wretch he is when he comes into God’s presence. When we see that glory of God we too will realize the defilement in our flesh. God will reveal areas in our lives where we are not like Christ. We also see how Isaiah allowed God to touch him and purify him. (Verse 7) Isaiah is then available for God’s service. This gives us confidence of how God can use us. In Job’s life also we read how after Job’s testing, he says how he has seen God! Job had heard a lot (Job 42:5) about God, but when he saw God, Job repented. What an encouragement this for us! When we see this real God, our lives can be completely changed. In the New Testament in Acts 7 we read Stephen’s speech and the martyrdom of Stephen. When Stephen looked to the heavens and saw God (Acts 7:56), he was able to love and forgive those who were stoning him.
Romans 8:14-15 “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. If we are led by the Holy Spirit, we can have the privilege to be the sons of God. For you have not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out “Abba Father” “. This will help us to go to our Father and cry out unto him to help us. This gives us the way to go to the presence of God so that we have more light. We take so much care of our physical bodies. Do we take that same care to choose what is best for us in our spiritual life? Ask God to scan your lives and show you the areas where darkness still remains. Colossians 1:15 “He is the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation.” Hebrew 1:3 “He is the radiance of His Glory and the exact representation of His nature and upholds all things by word of His power.” God’s nature is explained by Lord Jesus. 1 John 5: 20 “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we know Him who is true , in His Son Jesus Christ .This is the true God and Eternal life.”
In the beatitudes we read how the pure in heart can see God. Mathew 5:8 In order to see this pure heart, we need to guard our hearts to be pure. In John 8:12 “I am the Light of the world, he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of Life.” We read how Jesus is the light of the world and we are also encouraged to walk in the light. Mathew 5: 14 “You are the light of the world.” This is the transformation in our life. When we see God and are transformed, we will be the light of the world Mathew 5:16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Our purity in heart will help us see God and then God will reveal those areas that are still in darkness and God will help us to change those areas to light. When people see this light shine through our lives, they will glorify our Father in heaven. 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus His Son cleans us from all unrighteousness.” And when we walk in the light just as God is in the light, there will be perfect fellowship with our brothers who are walking in the light. Let this always be our desire!
