The Bible speaks in Jeremiah 17:7 about trusting 100% in the Lord, [Most] Blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, {and} relies on the Lord, and whose hope {and} confidence the Lord is. (Jer.17:7 Amplified). God wants all of His children to trust Him completely with hope and confidence at all times. God allows trials and difficulties to his children to prove their trust in Him. And in the next verse it talks about the blessings of being 100% trusting in Him by comparing it with a tree planted by the water. It does not fear when the heat comes, its leaves are always green; it has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. For all the above blessings, we need to be rooted in Christ. The root system serves to guarantee the existence of the whole tree, without roots a tree simply could not even survive and cannot produce fruits. If we trust God to live such a life then nothing else can take the place of God in our life and we will stand firm and bear much fruit in Him.
If our trust is in the Lord nothing else can separate us from His love. “Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” (Romans 8:35 – NASB). A true disciple will be abiding in God’s love in all circumstances and he will see God’s love in the midst of all trials and difficulties and will remain thankful to God for all that. Each trial and difficulty will be a blessing for him and a time to experience the unchanging love of God.
A disciple’s life should be firmly rooted and being built up in Lord Jesus Christ (Col 2:7) and experience the love of God with the fellowship of all saints (Eph. 3:17-18)
Under the New covenant, a life trusting completely in the Lord is not only a blessed life but we are obliged to live such a life by faith, because God purchased us by paying the penalty of all our sin (past, present and future) through Lord Jesus Christ (2 Cor 5:21). If we believe and trust God for such a fruitful life God will do that in our life because it is His purpose and plan for us (John 15:16)
